Handwoven linen and rayon. Indigo dyed warp with woven rayon pleats. Embroidered with cotton floss, linen and hand spun paper.

"There You Go" was created in the aftermath of the loss of a dear friend.

Rather than weaving a shroud, I wove this tribute and farewell blessing.

In many cultures the image of a bird is aligned with that of one's soul.

Here, the bird is lifting off with a gentle loving hand gesture from a human figure.

The human figure is a silhouette filled with stitches, not quite solid, not quite empty.... in transition from one form to another.

The lower half of the piece is three dimensional pleats woven with a golden thread.
