This piece uses a horseshoe crab shell with a delicate web woven onto it. Horseshoe crabs are “living fossils” meaning they have existed nearly unchanged for at least 445 million years, well before even dinosaurs existed. This ancient being represents the constancy of life, the thread that runs through all time.
