With threads, color and pattern as my language, I create work that is inspired by the rhythms and seasons of the natural world, as well as the complex connections in the human world.
I have been exploring the likeness of text and textiles and investigating the mystery of encoded fabrics and the hidden language in weaving. I try to come to terms with the mysteries of my own life by creating diagrams, maps and woven metaphors.
For thirty years I have found the process of weaving to be a spiritual experience. The slow, meditative quality of creating art through weaving shifts my entire being out of this crazy, fast world in which I live. Making art through weaving is my prayer.
