Summer has settled into the seacoast of Maine. Although it has been a cool, wet one, the gardens are thriving and the studio has been bustling.

After a very busy and successful spring with many exhibits, my summer work time in the studio has been rich and diverse. I have been working on the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Project, which is a collaboration with poet/friend Mimi White. My explorations include new materials such as fiberglass screening. The image to the right is a work in progress from these explorations.

I completed the last work in the "The Language of Truth" series; the piece is titled "Somewhere in the middle, lies the truth." This piece, like the others in the series, incorporates the Japanese technique of Shift, (twisted rice paper with writing). The text for this work is from many religious texts such as the Bhagavad-Gita, the Torah, the Bible, the I Ching and the Koran. You can see the other works in this series in my gallery section. Images of the newest piece will be included soon.

The Button Project, a 9/11 memorial, will be on exhibit from September 12 - October 23, 2004 in the Atrium Art Gallery, USM/Lewiston Auburn College, Lewiston, ME. The exhibit is titled: "The Inspired Hand II" and the opening is September 12, from 1 -3 PM. Please refer to the Button Project section of the web site to learn more about this art work.

For the third year in a row, I have been selected as a finalist for the GPCF Artists Award. This is a distinct honor, and I am privileged to be among this group of fine local artists.
