As I write this winter update, the outside temperature hovers around 4 degrees F above zero. It has been a chilly winter here without much snow. This is great for studio work, since I am not distracted to go outside and play in the snow!

I have just completed a new series based on the Jewish Kaddish prayer. The series uses kozo paper upon which I have written the lines of the prayer. This paper is cut into strips and then woven into the hand-dyed linen cloth. There are two images here from this series. One image shows the lines of text written on the kozo paper and the other image shows the weaving in the embroidery stage.

The complete series will be posted on the website gallery very soon. I look forward to hearing your response to this new work.

I am currently at work on a new series that will be long, unframed scrolls. I will continue to use the kozo paper with writing on it. The paper will be woven into linen with rayon accents. This series will be based on the idea and metaphor of truth.

In December, I was invited to show at the FiberArts Gallery in La Jolla, CA. I am very pleased to have my work included in this gallery. Additionally, I have several exhibits scheduled for this spring and summer - please take a look at my website calendar to learn more about these shows. I hope that you will be able to join me at one of these.

Late breaking news!! This weekend I was awarded a Juror's Choice award at the Children's Museum of Portsmouth 20th Anniversary Celebration for a woven clock that I donated to their auction. And this week, Mimi White and I learned that we have been selected as one of six pairs of artist/poets for the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Project.
