The house shape and invented language continue to captivate my visual images. In this piece I have explored the primal need of a mother to want to protect her children. This piece was conceived and designed during the summer of 2001 and was in the off-loom sewing stage when the events of September 11th rocked the world. As I sewed on this piece, I became more connected to the passion of protecting my children, as well as all the children of the world. I also came to the understanding that a true amulet is based on love and not fear.
