Teacher training offers teachers an opportunity to become skilled in a variety of weaving projects that have curriculum and community links. Participants will learn and become confident in techniques appropriate for the ages and abilities of their students.
Teacher training can be designed as a single after-school session, or an in-depth, multiple-day workshop. To ensure successful implementation, resource handouts including project instructions, material sources and a bibliography are all standard features of teacher training workshops.
Samples of Teacher Training Workshops:
Read Between the Lines: Integrating language arts with weaving
Full Circle: Weaving that is accessible to all abilities for learners
Common Threads: Connecting with other world cultures through weaving
Honor the Earth: Exploring nature and the environment through weaving
Celebrate the Fabric: Creating a community or school collaborative weaving
