In 1996 I worked with grades 3-8 to design and weave four works that illustrate diversity, tolerance and peace. We used uniquely shaped looms to tell the stories of tolerance at home and around the world. For example, a house shaped weaving told the story of Tolerance Begins at Home. The image you see here was woven by sixth graders and illustrates the importance of supporting the ideas of tolerance with action.
