Artist-in-residence projects are designed in collaboration with a site coordinator and are custom tailored to the goals of the host, the project budget and the community of participants. A residency project can be linked to curriculum or can be inspired by a school or community-wide theme such as "celebrating diversity".

Most residencies include an opening all-school assembly where using slides, weavings and stories, I highlight the presence of weaving all around the world for thousands for years. I also explore how weaving is vital to our lives today by examining how many at the school assembly are wearing weaving!

Individual weaving projects as well as a collaborative classroom project are typical components of a school residency, as well as a celebration and unveiling of the weavings at the end of the residency.
