On October 15th I sent an email to friends, family and colleagues about an art project that was a response to the events of September 11th. In turn these people e-mailed their friends, family and colleagues. Within 24 hours I had strangers at my studio with handfuls of buttons.

Every day, either in my mailbox or by hand, I received more buttons. Most packages of buttons come with a letter or note of support, thoughtful feedback and gratitude. As of November 11th, I had approximately 5,000 buttons.

The local newspaper, the York Weekly, did a story on the start of the project.
