Button Project Update: September 2002
The Button Project was on display from early July to early September at the Currier Gallery of Art. All summer I received notes, calls, emails and personal comments from visitors and staff at the Gallery about the power of this art work.
As the anniversary for September 11 approached, I also began to receive a lot of press exposure. You can read some of these articles from the following New England papers:
The Boston Globe, 9/8/02
The York Weekly, 9/11/02
Foster's Daily Democrat, 9/5/02
Currently the work is on display until October 21 at the UNH Gallery, Durham, NH.
On November 1, Each One, the Button Project, a 9/11 Memorial will be on display at the York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road, York, ME. At 7 pm. that evening I will be giving an artist's talk on the inspiration and creation of this art work.
I am continually amazed at the power of this work of art. It has a unique voice that rose from a place in this world that is larger than any one person. I am proud to have been a part of that voice.
The Button Project is available for exhibit and for purchase. Please contact me for further information.
