Button Project Update: June 2003

The Button Project has had a busy spring! In March and April the piece was in Wichita, Kansas at the nationally juried exhibit "Fiber Directions 2003". The piece won second prize. Shortly after the work returned home in May, I delivered it to a new local gallery called First Stock Art Gallery in Deerfield, NH. I was in a group show there with three other New England textile artists. This show, titled "Textiles as Art" opened on May 17th and closed on June 29th.

On the 30th of June I crated the Button Project and shipped it to Washington DC to be included in the internationally juried exhibit "Tribute to Fiber Artists" at the Artists' Museum in Washington DC. This show opened on July 9th and closes on July 31st.

I am still in the process of putting together a promotional package about the Button Project. This package will detail the history and creation of the artwork, as well as contain full scale images and details of the work. This promotional package will be sent to corporations, museums and individuals who might be interested in acquiring the artwork for their collection. I welcome any contact suggestions that you might have.

Thank you all, once again for your support of this art project. I still receive comments and feedback on the power of this work. This response is what sustains my energy to find a permanent home for this work.
